Welcome to the Web Application Components and Servlet section of MCA2103 – Enterprise Computing using Java EE, where we explore the fundamental technologies used to develop dynamic and interactive Java web applications.
This section introduces students to the basics of Web Application Development, Web Components, MVC Architecture, Containers, and Servlets. The concepts are explained in a simple, structured, and practical manner, making them suitable for students who are beginning their journey into Java Web Application Development.
You will begin by understanding the fundamentals of web application development and the role of different web components. You will also learn about the MVC (Model–View–Controller) Design Pattern, which helps developers organize an application by separating data, business logic, and presentation.
The section then introduces Web Containers, which provide the environment required to execute and manage web components such as Servlets. You will learn how containers handle requests, responses, Servlet lifecycle management, and other important web application tasks.
A major focus of this section is Servlet Programming. You will learn the Servlet lifecycle and important Servlet API components such as HttpServlet, GenericServlet, ServletConfig, and ServletContext.
